A friend of my parents in SD told them about wetlands in Farmington. Right now Bald Eagles are migrating North! They were told that just a week prior, they had seen 70 bald eagles in 2 trees! We headed off to see these bald eagles ourselves as soon as we heard.
We were glad we had found our binoculars because there was only 1 eagle. If you click on the picture, you should see a dot in the tree closest to the word.
Despite there being only 1 eagle, the kids LOVED it. There were also Blue Herons on nesting posts.
We cannot wait to go back to see more. There are hiking trails too. The gates close at 5 pm, so it is an afternoon adventure. It is located right across the street from our favorite Packs Pumpkin Patch, and we never knew it was there!

We have a similar spot on the Mississippi where eagles migrate through every year. We were a little more fortunate and saw a few more. Looks like a fun trip.
