Pinewood Derby

Pinewood derby was a big deal this year. Grandpa Bert was excited to help Coop make his first car. They designed it and Cooper even helped cut it out with Grandpa's new tools. Spence did some sanding, I did some painting, and Grandpa sanded the axles to make sure it was fast! We weighed in at exactly 5 oz.

Race off for 1st place

There was a 3 way tie for first place. In a race off, Cooper's car came in at 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place. This gave him 2nd place over all! He was so excited. Cooper had never been to a pinewood derby, so he was not too into the making of the car. He really only cared about having flames on it and the number 98, since that is the highest number you can make with one sticker of each number.  He was so nervous once we got to the race. But once his car went down the track he was pumped up and ready to win!
