Sweet Pro Chick

A Day out. A Sister day. A day at Brighton Ski Resort.

Yesterday was perfect. The falling snow was perfect. The bus ride up was a hilarious, expensive experience. Being with my sisters is always a laugh. We pretty much laughed at ourselves all day. I left home at 8:40 am, and got home at 5 pm. How long were we on the slopes? A whopping 3 hours. What consumed the rest of our time? The ski shop, the drive, the bus ride, lunch, being lost at lunch, the bus ride down the mountain, and the ride home. Yet the day was surprisingly perfect.

I love how the ski lift sweeps you off your feet and sends you swooshing up in to the air. Cooper would love it.

I love the misty snow, it reminds me of every Christmas Skiing at Brian Head Ski Resort as a kid.

I love being covered in warm apparel from head to toe and not realizing what a dorky Mom I look like.

I love that it is like a giggle fest on the ski lift and slope. I love that I could only stand from kneeling on toe side, and that my pants didn't split open!

I love that my baby is only 4 months old and I was in decent enough shape to board 3 hours. I will admit I thought I would collapse on my last run.

I love that my sisters are my best friends. It is unique. We missed Christy, but the memories from 2 years ago still keep me giggling. Stacy lives in San Diego and hasn't been boarding in 5 years. Wendy and I hadn't been in 2. It was a day of indulgence. To feel young. To forget the kids and feel like we were 8 years old again, skiing through the trees, no worries, just cool.

What I love most of all is coming home to my hubby. He is unbelievably willing and capable. I love that he can pick up carpool, run errands, entertain my parents, and stick to Maddux's schedule. I love him. I love that he loves our family more than anything else. Thanks baby for making this day happen.

I really would like to give skiing a try agaiin. Although I do worry that the ski patrol will have to haul my fat old butt off the mountain side.
