Busy and Bug Bites

This week has been crazy but fun. I feel like I have been driving like a maniac since Monday to make appointments, run errands and entertain the kids. Today I showed up for an appointment after dropping off the kids at a friends home, only to find out the practice moved to a new building. Nice: imagine me running back to my car, carrying Maddux in his car seat, to try to make it to the new office in 5 minutes. Yea, my week has been crazy exciting.

I am so nervous for summer. Cooper has been out of school this week for kindergarten testing. He has learned how to pout and throw fits on a new 6 year old level. Savannah is an equal challenge. I should have signed up for the Parenting Love and Logic 6 week course offered by the school. I may just loose my sanity this summer!

To compound my stress level Savannah has a bug bite on her hand. We made it to the after hours clinic tonight to find out that her swollen hand is the result of a large localized reaction. I am secretly thinking it is actually a poisonous spider bite, and by morning her whole arm with be septic. But lets not get all paranoid.
But her hand really is about to pop, and the skin feels leathery and looks rigid. It is very uncomfortable and her knuckles have turned purple. The "stronger than benadryl" medicine and antibiotic to fend off infection should kick in within 3 days. Awesome. Until then we will be elevating and icing. Poor girl, poor me, poor us.

Ouch! That looks like it is no fun. Emma went horseback riding with the Moors this week and had a severe allergic reaction to the horse. Her face and eyes were so swollen it didn't even look like her. I am like you. Freak out, just a little. I was in the Dr office getting an epipen asap. I'd post a picture, but I feel so bad for her, that I just can't do it. I am so sorry you guys have to go through all of that. I hope you have a good weekend!!

Poor girl! There's always something eh? No relaxation for moms with young kids. I hope the swelling goes down soon! Cute song.

Holy cow!!! Jesse had a bad bite on his hand about a year or two ago, didn't swell quite that much - my goodness! But it was all red and weird - freaked me out, but it did end up going away after a few days. I didn't even notice it on Friday ... so hopefully that means it is all better!

What in the world! Do you have any idea what kind of bug that was?

Wow, that IS nasty. Hope she is all better now! Tell her Grandma feels sorry for her--a week later, and loves her too.
