San Diego Zoo Safari Park

We were so lucky to have been given tickets to the Wild Animal Park! We arrived in the heat of the late morning and really did not stand a chance. Maddux LOVED the exotic ducks, and was so happy running around.

I love this Rhino! I have a picture of me as a kid atop his back. Entering the park and hopping on this some how makes the day magical to me.

Four kids makes the park hard. They are tired, hot, thirsty, bored. What! Look at the animals! Silly spoiled kids. Cooper was most excited about the big helium balloon ride. It was closed due to winds. But what would happen if it rolled away! Our funny boy was predicting what would happen to an enormous rolling balloon and the people below it.

We can thank the Africa Tram ride for 3 naps. Our youngest were lulled to sleep. Cooper was quiet until the White Rhino. There are only 6 left if the world due to poachers, and we saw one! Cooper wanted to do something to save the species. His concern was so him, Spence loves his tender side.

The choice of the day was either ice cream or stuffed animal? Spotty, Fluffy and baby giraffe are the newest members of our play room chaos. Maddux has always been fascinated with giraffes. This is the first stuffed animal we have bought him where he claims it as his own and wants to sleep with it. George and giraffe are now his little bed time buddies.

I have never seen a more beautiful Carousel! The kids rode it upon entry to the park, and I had to drag them back for one more ride on the way out. Everyone wanted to jump in the pool and then to spend the evening on the computer with Gavin. This trip is all about Gavin. Four hours at Safari Park was long enough once he was out of school.
