We have packed a ton of fun in the first 5 days in Poway. Spence drove us through the night Sunday to get us here to spend Monday with my parents. We hit the Sunday Night Vegas traffic and wanted to give up, driving only 30 miles in distance in 2 hours. Ugh. Nightmare. Monday we were happy to swim and relax. We did meet Norm and Teri in La Jolla for dinner and to celebrate Heidi's birthday.
On this BUSY Tuesday, we surprised my parents at the storehouse. They were busy, but the kids were reminded where Grandma and Grandpa spend their time serving the Lord.

I thought it would be easy to pop in at Belmont Park for a quick ride on the old rickety roller coaster, but this place was busy! Coop and Spence did get on the coaster, and Maddux and Sav rode the Carousel. We also took the kids on the board walk. It was pretty sad, we were all hot and melting, yet still fun for me.

Presidio Park is atop a hill with this awesome Spanish watch tower. I tortured the family making them hike a short hill, walk around the building, and then quarrel back to the car. Poor kids learning history.

We love the Mormon Battalion, and had to see it again. The kids did not remember it, and I love the story.
