Will this day just end!

On days when my list is so long I just want the kids to do their tasks and stay out of trouble. After a very long day Spence went to Mutual and I was trying to help Cooper with a book report, serve dinner, give baths, load the dishwasher and clean the upstairs before bed. Maddux and Maggie had just gotten out of the bath. Maggie was in jammies, but Maddux had only made it in to a diaper. I put Maddux in front of a movie in my room and left to help Cooper with his summary.
Less than 5 minutes later Maddux comes out looking like this! And he is only the beginning. Maggie had a huge lump in her hair, our comforter was covered, 4 large sections of carpet, one wall and my favorite pair of pants. Eucerin cream. Everywhere! Back in to the bath the 2 babies went, I stripped the bed, pillows and left the carpet for later. Maddux spent the rest of the night screaming strapped in time out (an extra car seat in our front room). When I am exhausted and just want to finish the day and get everyone in bed all alone, this just puts me over the edge. I want a break or a date or a night away from the madness. Or some sympathy. Thank goodness for dish soap; I got out the grease stains. But really, I did not want to stay up and do 3 loads of laundry that night. Will I ever get more than 6 hours of sleep?

I took off for the store as soon as Spence got home. I had successfully put all the kids to bed and went for carpet cleaner. In Smiths parking lot I ran over something in my parking space. It was a DVD case. Really! What else will I destroy today! I threw it in the car. Two hours later at home I mentioned to Spence I had run over a movie. He went to get it out of the car and it was Cars 2! Hurray! I destroyed a movie case but the DVD was still safe. Free movie for us. But still. I want my house to be picked up longer than twenty minutes. Not even clean. Clean is not necessary. Just picked up and not torn apart by Maddux and Maggie.

He is even happy with grease in his eyes, nose and mouth. So pleased with his work. Cheese!

Amen! Why is it always at bedtime that everything happens and when the hubbys gone and not there to help clean up? I'm with you on this one!

I am laughing my head off at this. Sorry, it's been too long and yes, you will, sadly, get more that 6 hours of sleep in a few years. It will be too quiet, and you will feel lonely. But that's another day and time......
